Signs Your FAAC Welding & Fabrication Is Failing

• The gate sags toward the latch side. This usually means a hinge weld has cracked or the hinge plate has begun tearing away from the post. The gate still opens, but the operator is fighting extra friction every cycle.
• The operator mount plate is loose or visibly cracked. FAAC operators torque against their mounting brackets every time the gate moves. A hairline crack in the plate is the first warning that the bracket is about to let go entirely.
• The gate shudders or vibrates mid-travel. That shudder is often a drive bracket that has elongated its bolt holes, letting the operator push against slop instead of clean steel.
• You hear a metal-on-metal scrape when the gate moves. When a hinge wears or a frame member bends, the gate leaf drops just enough to drag on a post, a latch, or the concrete.
• The gate stops mid-cycle and reverses. The FAAC control board senses the resistance from a binding hinge or a warped frame section and assumes there’s an obstruction. The board isn’t wrong; it’s just reacting to steel that’s no longer in line.
